Our Promise
In Canada, CMHA/Peel honours the Ethical Fundraising & Financial Accountability Code developed by the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy, and the Donor Bill of Rights established by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Donors and prospective donors are entitled to the following, promptly upon request:

  • Our most recent annual report and financial statement;
  • Our registration number as assigned by Canada Customs and Revenue Agency is 12977 8882 RR 0001

A list of the names and members of our governing body; and

Every effort will be made to honour our donor's requests to:

  • Limit the frequency of solicitations;
  • Not be solicited by telephone or other technology;
  • Receive printed material from us.

Our fundraising materials will:

  • Be truthful;
  • Accurately describe our activities and the intended use of funds;
  • Respect the dignity and privacy of those who benefit from our activities.

We will not sell our donor list. Any rental, exchange or other sharing of our donor list will exclude the names of any donors who have so requested.

Donors will be encouraged to seek independent advice if we have any reason to believe that a proposed gift might significantly affect his/her financial position, taxable income or relationship with other family members.

Donor's requests to remain anonymous will be respected.
The privacy of donors will be respected. Our donor records will be kept confidential to the greatest extent possible.
