relies on public support to ensure that needed programs continue:
services such as support groups, day programs, court support, case
management, youth and adult outreach, and a mental health resource
centre that helps people get the right help.

Gifts in Kind
Some donors choose to donate materials/product to us in
exchange for a charitable tax receipt. Unfortunately, we can no
longer issue donation receipts for invoiced goods, marked paid.
This has been an acceptable practice in the past, whereby a
supplier would invoice us for the fair market value of their
donated goods. For example, a company might print a document for a
special event such as our Annual General Meeting, or another might
donate baked goods for a CMHA/Peel program. In the past we would,
based on that invoice, issue a donation receipt. However, the
requirements are now that there is an exchange of cheques. The
supplier must prepare a cheque for us, and we must prepare a
cheque for the supplier, and trade off. We then issue a donation
receipt for the cheque received. It is more cumbersome this way,
but it is a requirement of the Canada Revenue Agency, Charities
