Davidson Scholarship Fund

Through a bequest to the Association, the Davidson Scholarship Fund was established to assist consumers to pursue an interest in formal study at recognized teaching institutions. It provides some financial assistance to take a course that may ultimately prepare someone to return to work or give them the skills and confidence to apply for their first job.

Appropriate applicants also include individuals wanting to study in the field of mental health. Awards are between $400 and $800, depending on the number of eligible applicants. Money can be used to pay for courses, as well as books and transportation. Application forms and criteria are available after November 15th. January 30th is the deadline for all applications. Decisions are made annually by February 15th and by February 24th, the Board of Directors will be advised of awards and recipients will be notified.

Jellian was able to return to school because of the Davidson Scholarship and is pursuing a certificate in Human Behaviour from Humber College. To find out more about Jellian click here to read our 2006-2007 Annual Report.
