Ms. Sandy Milakovic, CEO, started at CMHA/Peel in 1980. A Registered Nurse, Sandy left hospital work and
started her career in community mental health with PAR Clubhouse.
Sandy held progressive positions with CMHA/Peel, finally becoming
Executive Director in 1999. As a senior manager, Sandy earned her
certificate in Voluntary Sector Management, providing a valuable
balance between front line and administrative skills in leading
the Branch. Given her trustworthiness, sound judgment, and
leadership, Sandy was integral in fully transitioning the Board to
a governance board. Sandy is highly regarded both within CMHA/Peel
and within the local and provincial community mental health
sector. Ms. Helen Gemmell is the Senior Director,
Corporate Services. A Certified Management Accountant, Helen also earned a
degree in Math & Computer Science and teacher’s certificate from
York University. Prior to joining the branch in 1982, Helen
was an elementary school teacher and Manager at Great-West Life
Assurance Co & Corporate Planning Assoc. Serving in progressive
finance positions, Helen now leads a team of six staff dedicated
to human resources, finance, operations, and fund raising. Helen
has the integrity necessary to establish trust and accountability
with funders and the Board of Directors.
Ms. Nancy Bratkovic joined the Senior Management Team in
February 2006 as the Director, Community Resource Services and is
responsible for Street Outreach and the PAR Clubhouse programs.
Promoted from the position of Senior Manager, Clubhouse Services,
Nancy has worked with CMHA/Peel for 17 years and was part of the
Clubhouse's transition from a less structured program to one based
on the international model of "clubhouse". Nancy is a Registered
Social Service Worker and holds a Bachelor of Arts. Nancy's
thoughtful reflective approach adds a valuable dimension to the
team.
Ms Christine Devoy is the newest member of the Senior
Management Team, having joined CMHA Peel in April 2007 as
Director, Clinical Services. She is responsible for Mental Health
and Justice Services, Access to Recovery Case Management, and our
newest program, CMHA/Peel ACT (Assertive Community Treatment).
In May, 2010 she became Chief Operating Officer. Reporting to the
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Operating Officer (COO)
is responsible for leading and managing all CMHA/Peel services
and programs. In this role, Christine will be responsible for
all internal programs operations including program planning,
operating, quality assurance, funding compliance and staffing at
the highest level. Christine holds a Masters Degree in Social Work, a BA in
Psychology and is a Registered Social Worker. Christine brings
with her over 25 years of experience in clinical management and
social work roles in various community organizations, hospitals,
and EAP organizations throughout Ontario and in the Cayman
Islands. As well, Christine has taught social work/social service
work at the university and college level, respectively. With her
keen interest in organizational and program development, Christine
will be able to assist our organization during this exciting time
of change. |
