McEvenue Home Works
The McEvenue Home Works program is a minimally funded program of last resort, which is funded on an April 1st to March 31st fiscal year. We are pleased that it has been a well-utilized resource for many of our clients and those living in our community. Many of the approved applicants found themselves at risk of losing their housing as a result of rent arrears and McEvenue Home Works was able to provide the immediate resources necessary to maintain their housing.

All in-house referrals will be processed through our Central Intake. External referrals come through our Resource Centre at the phone no. below. Please note there is an approximate two-week wait between the date we receive supporting documentation and the date the claim is finalized.

This program was renamed McEvenue Home Works in honour of CMHA/Peel Branch’s cherished colleague Anthony (Tony) McEvenue, who passed away unexpectedly on February 25, 2007. Tony’s passion was security of housing and he would stop at nothing to ensure safe, affordable and respectful housing for people with mental illness. The renaming honours the memory of the man who spearheaded the development of the Home Works program and guided it through its infancy.
