Understanding Mental Illness 3 hr. to one full day training
Mental illness affects one in five Canadians. Despite being more common than most physical illnesses, many participants come to the Understanding Mental Illness training with no formal education about mental illness. This workshop has been created to address the critical need for basic education about mental illness, and to enable participants to provide informed and effective support to their clients, families, and friends.

Participants will:

  1. increase their knowledge of the signs and symptoms of the most common mental illnesses

  2. become more aware of the different treatment options available

  3. learn effective coping and support techniques for use at work and in their personal life
